Thank God for one's own children. They are usually wonderful subjects for a painting, and an artist has an untold number of opportunities to capture special moments on canvas.
When my own boys were small, their two-year age difference created a natural friendship and playmate atmosphere. In this painting, the younger son who usually rode in the stroller insisted on pushing his older brother. In their minds, the boys were flying down the sidewalk at speeds MUCH faster than their mother would ever push them. Their squeals of delight still echo in my head.
