One of my real joys is giving art lessons to young children. To see their eyes when something they are drawing "comes together" and becomes real to them is tremendously satisfying.
It happened one Saturday for me when Kaci came for her first art lesson. In preparation, she had dressed up and made a colored tissue flower that she stuck in her hair. She was so adorable that I immediately took the watercolors I set up for her lesson and she became the model instead of student for that first hour.
