This painting was a product of the "experimental" stage of my art. In trying to find my own style, I emulated others, in this case Degas. Here I took a ordinary subject, a girl dancing, and tried to capture the Degas feeling of a "painting hidden within a painting". A quick glance at the painting may merely show up as a glob of color but on closer examination, one can easily see the head and delicate arms of the girl.
