I don't know what it was about Russia, but I found more musicians on the street than anywhere else I've visited. Here was a Russian Guitar player, sitting on a stool in the middle of a sidewalk in St. Petersburg. He was difficult to avoid since there was not enough sidewalk left to get around him, thus anyone passing would find it hard to ignore his request for "donations".
Nonetheless, he was not a "street person" but a very talented musician and he could make the guitar sing. When he played, it was classical not rock, and he concentrated so much it was hard not to like him. I listened long enough to get his image firmly implanted and thus was born another painting.
