I have an on-going 28-year love affair with the lucious Phlox family--ever since their scent stole my nose when they suddenly popped out in our first New Jersey garden. For ten years I enjoyed their tiny but somehow plump, waxy white petals, arranged in thick bouquets on tall stems.

In our second New Jersey garden, some purples and pinks appeared our of nowhere, again intoxicating me with their ambience. My formerly all-white Phlox family is branching out and coloring my property, one end to the other. Live long and prosper, dear Phlox.
