The name of our street was chosen because our home used to have an apple orchard. While much of the old orchards are now replaced with houses, we do have one tree that faithfully produces plump crab apples. In the fall, they add a special tang to some of my peach preserves.

But it all starts in the spring with their offering of fragrant flowers, promises of pies and jams to follow.
