I remember my parents' 25th wedding anniversary. I was in college, and Mom and Dad seemed so old. I mean, they were nearly 50 years old!
Six years ago, my husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary in Florence, Italy. I had reached the mature age of almost 51, and somehow, I didn't feel as old as my parents, in the same situation, had seemed to me. Well, this is one of the mysteries of life. Are we really as old as we think we are? I'm still amazed.
Here we are, (with major painterly license in the rendering of myself),
gazing at the Duomo Cathedral in Florence, Italy, hypnotized by the beauty
of something that the great artist Michelangelo might have enjoyed from
this very spot. White marble, with jewels of pink and green -- splendidly
ageless.
