Being a musician, you can imagine my delight when I was walking down a side street in an older rundown section of Moscow and encountered this sign hanging on a building. It was in the form of a treble clef and of course I had to find out what the sign said.

Since no one was home in the building, I wandered down the street and found someone at the nearby Moscow Conservatory of Music who could translate the sign into English. When I was told that it said "Composers' Home" I knew immediately the sign would become a painting some day. My only regret was not staying around long enough to meet "the composers".
