In Madrid, Spain, I saw a man inside a horse puppet, and I recalled a childhood experience.

While I was blissfully riding a carousel horse, my older brother was more focused on the rings that hung above us.

Suddenly, he grabbed the only brass ring, jumped off the ride and traded the ring in for a free ride. I was jealous--not only was he taller than I, but he also could do all those big-kid things.

Now that I'm big enough, I realize that my life is full of brass rings -- some I'll grab and some I'll blissfully miss. Gotta keep my eyes and ears open, and my hand ready.
