"The Scholar"

Translation of the Chinese characters: "I can only write a little bit."

Our younger son studied two years of Chinese in college. Although his preferred hand for writing and throwing balls is his left, he discovered that he had to write Chinese with his right hand in order to make the brush strokes correct.

As he practiced, he wondered if he was truly ambidextrous. The following day he found himself taking physics class notes with his left hand and simultaneously practicing his Chinese with his right hand. You learn the darndest things in college!
