Our cruise down the Yangtze River was the favorite part of our journey through China. One evening after dinner, as we were nearing the city of Wanxian, I climbed up to the observation deck of the riverboat. Off in the distance, shimmering through the fog, were the lights of a bridge up ahead. There was something almost mystical about this image. It almost seemed unreal even though I knew what it was. I tried to capture on canvas that "not quite real" feeling of this lonely bridge over the Yangtze River.
