One of the things that my art teachers drilled into my head was to paint pictures with porches in them - these paintings always sell quickly. So as a duty bound student I did so.
On the front porch off our dining room I quickly moved over a couple of wicker rocking chairs to add interest and quickly set paint to canvas.
However, a funny thing happened while painting this setting - I fell in love with this small porch. We have a number of porches and I never paid much attention to this one; but after painting a few hours, appreciating the afternoon sun, I left the rockers there and now spend many non-painting hours sitting in them.
