The most dramatic feature of our Castle is the 4-story tower that rises from the center of the structure. We have heard so many stories about the origin and purpose of the tower that we don't know what the truth is.

Some say it was a lookout tower, but since it was built in 1927, we have no idea what they might have been on the look out for.

We subscribe to the theory that the tower functioned as kind of a cooling tower for the house, drawing the hot air up and out of the pre-air conditioned house. Whatever it's purpose, it's been an eye-catching and conversation stirring addition to our grand old castle.
