One day one of the previous owners of our Castle stopped by to see how the old homestead was doing. In the process of that conversation, he provided us with an old photograph of the Castle in its 1920's glory days. The days when it had hundreds of acres, and the main road fronting the property came complete with a one-mile fence of red roses.

I could imagine living in those days, with servants to tend to my needs and service the grounds, and I had to memorialize the picture and feeling into a painting. Ah, to live in the 1920's in the days before income taxes.
